Willingness of the industry to innovate and improve products for quality health care
29/07/2013Report shows there are numerous safe plasticisers for PVC medical devices
27/03/2014The Danish Environmental Protection Agency, the Danish Health and Medicines Authority and the PVC Information Council Denmark (a PVCMed partner) are organising a conference on Alternatives to Classified Phthalates in PVC Medical Devices in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 27 March.
The conference will provide a unique opportunity to gather all stakeholders involved in the debate around the use of PVC plasticisers in medical applications. This is crucial in order to continue promoting patient safety and quality healthcare, even more so at a time of on-going discussions on the review of the EU Medical Devices legislation and the SCENIHR scientific opinion on the use of phthalates in medical devices. We are delighted to be part of this initiative through the PVC Information Council Denmark and we would very much appreciate your participation and contribution to the debate.

The PVCMed Alliance partners have contributed to the report by providing data on alternatives to the Danish authorities.
In addition to the presentation of the study all aspects related to the latest developments on the use of plasticised PVC in medical devices will be discussed. Speakers will include representatives of national and EU health and environmental authorities, independent experts as well the medical device and PVC industry.
