Dialogue and partnerships is the way forward for industry. That was the overall message from the Copenhagen Chemicals Summit 2016, which was recently held at the SAS Radisson Royal Hotel in the center of Copenhagen. The main theme of the 2-day conference was safe chemicals management initiatives of governments and authorities in Scandinavia.
Ole Grøndahl Hansen, General Manager of PVC Information Council Denmark and Project Manager of PVCMed Alliance, was invited to speak. In his presentation, Mr. Hansen outlined a project between the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, the Danish Medicines Authority and large chemical companies to assess 10 alternatives to classified phthalates in medical devices. The project resulted in a report and international conference.
