Düsseldorf is not only the venue of one of Germany’s largest carnivals. Tomorrow and Wednesday (28 – 1 March) the city hosts PVC Formulation 2017, an international conference on the PVC industry, compounding, recipes and market trends.

The status of DEHP replacement

PVCMed will also be at the event. Project Manager Ole Grøndahl Hansen will give a talk about substitution of DEHP in medical devices. Titled Reviewing progress in switching from DEHP to a non-DEHP plasticisers in PVC for medical applications, Ole Grøndahl Hansen will present the results of a project to evaluate alternatives to classified phthalates in medical devices, which involved Danish authorities and large chemical companies. He will also showcase the importance of PVC in healthcare and give his view on how far replacement of DEHP has come.
